Midget is back from a vacation around North America... highlights including making friends with Mexican taxi drivers, celeb spotting at Coachella, ritzing it up in Hollywood diners and strolling the streets of New York.
So turn up your screen brightness a bit folks. I took these photos when I first arrived in Brooklyn, at Bedford Ave Station off the L train, walking up to a big vintage store. I didn't realise that the dial on my Nikon had moved, but I ended up taking this series of super dark shots.
They turned out to be some of my favourite photos from the whole trip. The details of reality and overall 'legibility' of an image don't really concern me as such to be honest. I am drawn to light, shadow, and compositional balance (or non-balance for that matter). Photographs that instill an aura or mood.
